GVSHP has submitted a highly detailed proposal to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for the protection of the historic buildings of the Far West Village.  We are fighting to have these buildings and this area protected as quickly as possible, to prevent the further destruction of its historic character.  GVSHP is also working with the City on a plan to rezone the area between Horatio and Barrow Streets west of the Greenwich Village Historic District to ensure that there are appropriate height and bulk limitations to keep any new development in scale and character with the neighborhood.
