Host a GVSHP Friendraiser Event
Help us spread the word about the pressing development and preservation issues facing our community and the work of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation!
We are asking our friends and supporters if they would be willing to consider holding a “friendraiser” for GVSHP – inviting a group of their friends and neighbors to their home to hear from GVSHP regarding current developments and preservation issues facing the neighborhood, what we are doing about them, and how they can get involved if they choose.
It is also an opportunity for us to hear from your friends and neighbors about issues of concern to them, answer questions, and consider their suggestions. GVSHP's Executive Director, Andrew Berman and one or two members of GVSHP’s staff and Board of Trustees would attend, and we have found these to be an extraordinarily effective way of generating interest and involvement in GVSHP.
These events usually last no more than two hours, are typically on a weekday evening or weekend afternoon, and some refreshments are provided by the hosts. GVSHP would provide all literature and information, and can help with a flyer or invitation that you can distribute to the friends and neighbors you choose to invite. We would not be soliciting donations in any way, though we would provide guests with information about how they can join GVSHP or get involved with our efforts if they choose to.
