GVSHP has wonderful news regarding the illegal Equinox billboards, which we have been fighting to see removed. After GVSHP reported the billboards to the Department of Buildings and the Landmarks Preservation Commission, both agencies took swift action in response, leading to the issuance of multiple violations, and most recently a Commissioner’s Order from the Department of Buildings to remove the signage within 48 hours. This morning, the signs were being dismantled by Equinox!
Thank you to everybody who called 311, reported the violations to the city, and worked with us to help get them removed.
Unfortunately, too many illegal billboards are allowed to remain up for extended periods of time, or indefinitely. GVSHP will continue to work to see all such illegal and inappropriate signage removed in our neighborhood. For more information about how to help, CLICK HERE.
