CALL SPEAKER QUINN TODAY —
NO REZONING WITHOUT
LANDMARK PROTECTIONS
FOR THE SOUTH VILLAGE!

Development sites in the South Village

At Tuesday’s public hearing, an overflow crowd called upon the City Council  NOT to approve the Hudson Square rezoning, which will accelerate the destruction of the South Village, unless the City grants the South Village much-needed landmark protections.

The City Council will be voting soon on this issue so critical to the future of our neighborhood.

As Speaker Quinn did not attend Tuesday’s City Council hearing, it’s important that she hear from you TODAY!

HOW TO HELP:

Thank you to the scores of people who did attend Tuesday’s hearing, many of whom waited for hours to be called to speak, including representatives of Assemblymember Deborah Glick and Community Board #2. You can read GVSHP’s testimony HERE, view video of entire Zoning Subcommittee hearing HERE (GVSHP’s testimony begins at 1:48:15). You can also read coverage in today’s Villager newspaper HERE.

GVSHP and a half-dozen community groups have also written an op-ed in this week’s Villager newspaper, “Quinn Holds The Cards On Rezoning and Landmarking,” which you can read HERE.

The fate of the South Village now lies in the hands of the City Council and Speaker Quinn. Will they greenlight this neighborhood’s destruction, or stand firm to protect it?

Make sure Speaker Quinn hears from you TODAY!
