Important South Village Landmarking Dates Set - Hearing June 25th

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has announced that they will vote to 'calendar' "Phase II" of our proposed South Village Historic District, including the three sites GVSHP fought to include, on May 21st, putting in place the first preliminary protections.  They have also announced that the public hearing on the proposed landmark district will be held on Tuesday, June 25, so please circle that date on your calendar now - we will need everyone to attend to testify or show support for designating the entire district.

You can read the LPC's letter to GVSHP confirming the inclusion of the ten 1840's houses at 130-148 West Houston Street, NYU Law School's Vanderbilt Hall, and NYU's Kevorkian Center in the proposed district HERE.  You can also read more about this development in The Villager newspaper HERE.
