Margot Gayle, who passed away in September of 2008, served on the GVSHP Board of Advisors for many years. Gayle’s preservation battles included saving the Jefferson Market Courthouse in Greenwich Village (now the Jefferson Market Library branch of the New York Public Library) and creating the SoHo Cast Iron Historic District.
