Correspondence with the City urging it to take action on 43 MacDougal Street

43 MacDougal Street is a Greek Revival rowhouse built in 1846 and located within the Charlton-King-Vandam Historic District. For the past several years, the building has sat vacant and deteriorating, causing problems of vermin and blight, and threatening the historic integrity of the neighborhood. GVSHP has been working with neighbors to pressure city agencies to take action against the deplorable conditions at the building, and to make repairs themselves and charge the owner if necessary. Some city agencies have responded by issuing violations and promising to make some repairs, but conditions at the site continue to worsen. We will continue to keep the pressure on until this horrible eyesore and health and safety hazard is finally repaired.
