Deadline for Comments on Rudin/St. Vincent’s Plan Approaches
Monday December 12 is the deadline for the City Planning Commission to receive public comments on the rezoning package requested by Rudin Management in order to allow their condominium development of the former St. Vincent’s East Campus. GVSHP has argued strongly against giving Rudin the benefits which were accorded to St. Vincent’s for a hospital development in 1979 for a luxury housing development which serves no public purpose. The City Planning Commission and the City Council (which will hear and vote upon the Rudin plan following the Commission) must both approve the plan in order for it to move forward as is. Borough President Scott Stringer, whose vote is advisory, has already recommended approval of the plan. The City Planning Commission vote is expected to take place in January.
