TECH HUB FINAL VOTE SOON
CALL & WRITE TODAY: NO TECH HUB WITHOUT
NEIGHBORHOOD PROTECTIONS
The final vote by the City Council on the Mayor’s proposed 14th Street Tech Hub will come in early August. This will decide whether his proposed rezoning to allow the development happens. And a Tech Hub on 14th Street without the neighborhood protections we have been fighting for will result in an acceleration of the out-of-scale, largely commercial development we are seeing in the Village and East Village between Union Square and Astor Place, including 300+ ft. tall office towers, and 300+ room hotels.
TO SAVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, WE MUST ENSURE THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DOES NOT APPROVE THE TECH HUB WITHOUT THE MAYOR AGREEING TO NEIGHBORHOOD PROTECTIONS ALONG WITH IT – and right now the Mayor is still adamantly refusing to consider such protections.
CALL COUNCILMEMBER CARLINA RIVERA at 212-677-1077
(It’s especially important to call if you live in Councilmember Rivera’s district – map here.)
Powerful forces are pressing the City Council to approve the Tech Hub without neighborhood protections. The Mayor’s campaign donors and fundraisers stand to benefit from the proposed Tech Hub and from keeping the neighborhood protections we are fighting for from being approved.
STAND UP FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
