GVSHP is fighting to ensure that the University Place, Broadway, and 3rd and 4thAvenue corridors between Union Square and Astor Place get the zoning and/or landmark protections they need to protect from out-of-scale and out-of-character development, like the new 285 ft tall condo at 110 University Place, several 300 ft tall office towers planned for Broadway, and the 313 room ‘Moxy’ Hotel rising at 120 E. 11th Street. This is especially necessary in light of the Mayor’s seeking zoning changes to allow a new ‘Tech Hub’ on 14th Street, which will exacerbate this overdevelopment trend UNLESS these protections are provided.
