Urgent Appeal to Save Chelsea Market Jamestown Properties, the new owners of Chelsea Market, are once again getting ready to file an application to rezone the historic complex to allow the addition of huge office and hotel towers on its 9th and 10th Avenue ends.  Jamestown has indicated they would file before, only to pull back in light of strong community opposition. As the most recent possible filing date is March 26th, NOW IS A CRITICAL TIME TO TELL KEY CITY OFFICIALS THAT THE PLAN IS WRONG AND NOT SUPPORTED BY THE COMMUNITY, AND THEY SHOULDN’T SUPPORT IT EITHER.  HOW TO HELP: Before March 26th send a letter to Speaker Quinn, Borough President Stringer, and City Planning Chair Burden urging them NOT to support ANY rezoning of the Chelsea Market complex to allow additional construction  > > Pass this along to friends and neighbors and ask them to do the same – THIS IS A CRITICAL TIME TO SAVE CHESLEA MARKET!
