NYU To Present ‘2031’ Expansion Plan in April
 NYU has announced that they will share their new 20 year expansion plan with the public on Wednesday, April 14th from 5:30 to 8 P.M. at the Kimmel Center at 60 Washington Square South (at LaGuardia Place), 10th floor. Attend to find out more about what NYU is planning for our neighborhood and elsewhere in New York City over the next two decades.
GVSHP and a coalition of community groups have been pushing NYU to look outside of our neighborhoods to accomodate their future growth, and to limit their growth in our already oversaturated neighborhoods. We have also been working to hold NYU accountable when it violates its public commitments regarding its developments, such as in 2009 when we exposed that the university had secretly demolished part of the tiny remnant of the Provincetown Playhouse and Apartments which it had promised to preserve, hidden behind construction walls.
The release of the 2031 plan will be an important opportunity to find out more about NYU’s plans and express your opinion about their appropriateness. GVSHP will have more information about what you can do closer to the release date.
