Upcoming Hearing on NYU’s Environmental Impact Study
This Tuesday, May 24th, the Department of City Planning will hold a public hearing on the proposed scope of work for the Environmental Impact Statement for NYU’s massive proposed expansion project. The hearing and this review process will determine what NYU must study regarding the potential impact of its proposed plans, and how they do it (more information HERE). Unsurprisingly, NYU’s proposed analysis, as currently submitted to City Planning, is seriously lacking in many key respects.

Speaking of NYU’s lack of accurate self-analysis, see further press coverage of NYU’s failed attempt to spin the study they bought and paid about their impact on the Village, and its failure to address the real issue of whether their expansion would be better focused on other areas, on NBC.com, Globestreet.com, and Curbed.
