City Council NYU Hearing Approaching; Call the Council Monday 6/25!
 The City Council’s SOLE public hearing on NYU’s massive proposed expansion plan will be next Friday, June 29th at 9:30 am at City Hall (that’s right – the Friday before the July 4th holiday and exactly the time that GVSHP and NYU faculty and workers opposing the plan urged the hearing NOT be held – read HERE). While the timing may be designed to make it as difficult as possible for the public to participate, WE NEED TO SHOW UP IN FORCE AND TELL THE COUNCIL THAT THE PLAN IS WRONG AND THEY SHOULD VOTE ‘NO’!
THERE ARE TWO KEY THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

PHONE ZAP! Call City Councilmembers next Monday, the 25th to urge them to vote ‘NO’ on the NYU plan – phone numbers and a script are HERE

Join GVSHP, NYU faculty, and dozens of groups for a rally on the steps of City Hall next Friday at 8:30 am, prior to the City Council hearings, to call upon the Council to vote ‘NO’ on the NYU plan!

 In the meantime, if you have not already, PLEASE WRITE TO KEY CITY COUNCILMEMBERS URGING THEM TO OPPOSE NYU’S MASSIVE EXPANSION PLAN – click HERE.
Please pass this along to friends and neighbors, and ask them to come to City Hall on Friday June 29th at 8:30 am for the rally, 9:30 am for the public hearing, and to call City Councilmembers this coming Monday, June 25th!
