City Council Vote This Week — Call Today To Save the South Village!
The City Council will vote this week on the proposed Hudson Square Rezoning, as early as Tuesday. If they vote to approve the rezoning without a commitment from the City to move ahead with landmark protections for the South Village, it will ensure the South Village's destruction!
The fate of the South Village is now in Speaker Quinn's hands! To save this neighborhood, she must vote down the Hudson Square rezoning, unless the City agrees to provide long-promised landmark protections for the South Village.
HOW TO HELP:
- Call Speaker Quinn's office today at 212-564-7757 and urge her to vote 'NO' on the Hudson Square Rezoning, unless she can secure a commitment from the City to landmark the South Village!
- Call Landmarks Preservation Commission Chair Robert Tierney and urge him to keep his promise to landmark the entire South Village before this historic neighborhood is destroyed! Call 212-669-7888 or 212-669-7934 (the Chair's assistant).
If you get a busy signal or the phone rings and no one picks up
it means we are overwhelming their lines with calls -- keep trying!
You can also send a letter HERE.
Thank you for helping to save our neighborhood!
