837 Washington Street – Not Quite There Yet
The revised proposed for 837 as presented today to the Landmarks Preservation Commission

As promised in today’s earlier post, we have photos of the revised designs for 837 Washington Street that were presented today at a public meeting of Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The revised proposed for 837 as presented today to the Landmarks Preservation Commission

In response to the concerns raised by the Commission during the last hearing on November 2010, the architect knocked two stories off the proposed addition and added windows to the brick portion. But the new proposal still didn’t quite make the cut. The Commissioners felt that the addition needed a further reduction in scale as well as some stylistic revisions to make it relate better to the existing two-story moderne building on which it would sit. The application was sent back to the drawing board and is set to return at a later date TBD with yet another revised proposal.
