Hearing on Proposed 85-93 Jane Street Development with 90 ft. Towers Thursday 5/12 at 6:30PM
&
Hearing on Proposed 11 Jane Street 95 ft. tall Apartment Building Monday, 5/16 at 6:30 PM

85-93 Jane Street:

85 Jane Street

Please attend this very important Community Board public hearing on a proposed development within the Greenwich Village Historic District.  The proposal would raise the existing 1 and 2-story buildings to about 41 feet in height along the street, but would also add a narrow 90 ft. tall glass tower and a 90 ft. tall concrete tower on the rear of the site.

This low-scale block of Jane Street between Washington and Greenwich Streets has a special historic character (which is why it was included in the Greenwich Village Historic District), which would be profoundly affected by the proposed development.

Read GVSHP’s historic research about the existing buildings here.

HOW TO HELP

Attend and speak out at the Community Board #2 Landmarks Committee public hearing on the 85 Jane Street proposal on Thursday, May 12 starting @ 6:30 PM- NYU Silver Building, 32 Waverly Place, Room 520 (2nd item)

The Community Board will issue an advisory opinion on the proposal, so it is critical that they hear from you.  The proposal will eventually be scheduled for a public hearing at the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which will ultimately decide its fate.

11 Jane Street

11 Jane Street:

Please attend this very important Community Board public hearing on a proposed development within the Greenwich Village Historic District.  The proposal would replace the existing 2-story garage building with a new apartment building reaching nearly 95 feet in height (previous filings had indicated a proposed new building of only 75 feet in height).

This low-scale block of Jane Street between Greenwich Avenue and Hudson Street also has a special historic character (which is why it was included in the Greenwich Village Historic District), which would be profoundly affected by the proposed development.
