Proposed St. Luke's Tower Back at LPC

The proposal by St. Luke's Church to build a 15-story tower on the southwest corner of their block at 100 Barrow Street (at Greenwich Street) will come back before the Landmarks Preservation Commission for a public meeting on this Tuesday, May 6, at approximately 10 am (see LPC schedule).

GVSHP has raised serious concerns about this proposal, which was heard by the Commission earlier this year. The Commission asked for some changes to the design at their last meeting on the application, and presumably the applicant will present changes in response to the Commissioner's comments. The public will not be allowed to speak at this public meeting, but will be allowed to listen, see the applicant's presentation, and hear the Commissioners' comments. The Commissioners may vote on the application, or urge further revisions.

You can view the original proposed design here, and view other details about the application and the site here, from GVSHP's Landmarks Application Webpage. You can also watch the video of the Landmarks Preservation Commission's discussion of and comments on this proposal here, from GVSHP's YouTube page.
