Press Conference Calling for Boro Pres. Stringer to Vote 'NO' on NYU Plan, 3/22
 Please join GVSHP, NYU faculty and students, and Village, SoHo, NoHo, Union Square, and Chelsea Community groups for a press conference calling upon Borough President Stringer to vote ‘NO’ on NYU’s massive proposed Village expansion plan – tomorrow, Thursday, March 22 at noon on the steps of City Hall (bring photo ID and arrive early to get through security). Borough President Stringer will be the first elected official to vote on the NYU plan – we need to let him know in no uncertain terms that we want him to vote ‘NO.’ Thousands of people have attended public hearings and rallies calling for the plan to be rejected, and thousands have written letters, made phone calls, and signed petitions urging the plan be voted down. Borough President Stringer himself convened a Community Task Force for three years which called for NYU to consider alternative locations for its expansion plan. BUT WE CAN TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED, AND MUST CALL ON THE BOROUGH PRESIDENT TO ISSUE A FIRM RECOMMENDATION OF ‘NO’.
